Dataset Changelog

TL;DR

This page is the permanent public record of material changes to the News Quantified dataset: taxonomy additions and revisions, coverage extensions, convention changes, and correction batches. Entries are dated, versioned, and never deleted. Licensed clients can reconstruct any delivered snapshot; this log is how everyone else verifies that we treat our own history the way we treat the market's: point-in-time, no silent edits.

The versioning policy

• Corrections are additive. A corrected classification coexists with its prior version; records carry version identifiers and effective dates.
• Taxonomy changes are documented. New event classes, split classes, and revised definitions appear here with the date and the affected data dictionary entries.
• Conventions never change silently. Any change to return conventions, window definitions, or universe construction is logged before published studies reflect it.
• Timestamps are exempt from improvement. Point-in-time timestamps are never revised, ever, including here. That policy is the foundation of the methodology and has no exceptions to log.

2026-08-02 — delivery. Changelog published. Dated entries for material changes — taxonomy, coverage, conventions, correction batches — are recorded here from this date forward; historical entries are being back-filled from internal records.
