GUANGZHOU, China, June 18, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- YY Inc. (Nasdaq: YY) (“YY” or the “Company”), a leading global social media platform, today announced the proposed offering (the “Notes Offering”) of US$425 million in aggregate principal amount of convertible senior notes due 2025 (the “2025 Notes”) and US$425 million in aggregate principal amount of convertible senior notes due 2026 (the “2026 Notes,” and, together with the 2025 Notes, the “Notes”), subject to market and other conditions. The Company intends to grant the initial purchasers in the Notes Offering a 13-day option to purchase up to an additional US$75 million in aggregate principal amount of the 2025 Notes and US$75 million in aggregate principal amount of the 2026 Notes. The Company plans to use part of the net proceeds from the Notes Offering to pay the costs of the capped call transactions described below, and use the remainder of the proceeds for (i) global expansion-related initiatives, including infrastructure
