Then an upstart CRM company They were first ridiculed, and then the behemoths in the space started realizing the . The model of a unified, cloud-only solution (versus per-customer software) dominated the new landscape. Not Your Father's Oldsmobile Old vendors could not change easily but craved the excitement of the cloud. They began labeling their hosted software as cloud or espousing that customers needed a hybrid private cloud strategy, Much like Oldsmobile, the more they claimed to be innovating, the more evident it became that they were failing to meet market needs.
