WWE NXT Beats AEW Dynamite Amid Cody Rhodes Appearance [Forbes]

AEW Dynamite garnered 681,000 viewers for last night's broadcast from Des Moines, Ia. down 14% from 790,000 viewers last week. Dynamite drew 0.23 in 18-49. WWE NXT drew 718,000 viewers for its post-Battleground show at the WWE Performance Center. With NXT smelling blood in the water after gaining ground on Dynamite in recent weeks—and AEW's stiff competition from the NBA Finals—NXT advertised Undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes. Surprisingly, NXT's audience shrunk 7% this past week following a weekslong hot streak powered by TNA Knockouts champion Jordynne Grace, former AEW star Ethan Page and hip hop superstar Sexxy Red. Dynamite featured TBS champion Mercedes Mone defending against Zeuxis. Dynamite's main event pitted AEW International champion Will Ospreay against Rey Fenix.
