Customers complained that they had been locked out of Boots's website on Tuesday morning, while others said the company's app was failing to load. Some customers were shown a message admitting the service was “rather busy with Black Friday shoppers” and telling them they had been “temporarily placed in a virtual queue”. On X, previously known as Twitter, Boots's customer service staff told shoppers: “We are currently experiencing some issues with the system and we are looking into it. In the meantime please keep refreshing or call us so an adviser can place the order for you.” It is understood that the website crashed for around 30 minutes before coming back online, although some customers continued to complain of issues for several hours. The crash coincided with the retailer's “£10 Tuesday” deal, when it offers beauty and healthcare products for a discount. One customer reported at 1.50pm that they had been trying to use the company's website for “hours now and still no joy
