United Overseas Bank: A Near 4.5% Yielder For Dividend Investors To Consider Summary The banks in Singapore have long been rated among the safest banks in the world. In recent months there has been accelerated NPL formation in the banking sector. UOB is, however, well positioned to navigate any such potential headwinds given its strong capital position. Singapore’s major three major banks have long been considered to be among the OTCPK:UOVEF Macro-environment , Capital and Asset Quality With economic growth in Singapore more sluggish in recent months An improved economic outlook could act as a positive catalyst for UOB, although such improvement alone is unlikely to result in significant share price appreciation in the near term. In the near-term investors are likely to be more interested in loan growth Despite accelerated NPL formation UOB’s overall NPL ratio remained relatively low at 1.5% which is the same as the two other major Singapore banks.
