Courtesy of Jaggers Texas Roadhouse, which has grown to 720 locations, with 15% franchised including international stores and the rest company-owned, expanded by filling a niche as an affordable, mid-priced steakhouse. Then it created Bubba's 33, a brand with wide appeal, offering pizza, wings, salads, and pastas, and in 2014 debuted a fast casual brand, Jaggers, in Noblesville, Ind., aiming to reach a different clientele. Its founder Kent Taylor (who died in March 2021) described Jaggers as “What if Chick-fil-A and Five Guys got married and had a kid.” And spokesperson Travis Doster said Jaggers synthesized “three category staples-chicken, burgers and salads.” Jaggers Expands Its Customer Base Texas Roadhouse's current CEO Jerry Morgan, based in Louisville, Ky., whose resume covers 27 years with Texas Roadhouse, said Jaggers “appeals to a different segment than those who want steak and potatoes.” He adds that its average check is $10.70 for a burger, side and beverage, makin
