Con esta nueva regla, las organizaciones de Tour, Giro de Italia y Vuelta a España tienen la posibilidad de cursar una tercera invitación a una formación de su elección, una más que en los últimos años. En las tres grandes carreras por etapas del calendario ciclista, la norma marca que los dieciocho equipos del World Tour (primera división) estén automáticamente clasificados. Otros dos puestos van a los dos equipos mejor clasificados de segunda división y ahora habrá tres invitaciones en manos de los organizadores. La organización del Tour publicó en su cuenta oficial de la red social X los nombres de los tres equipos invitados: el francés TotalEnergies, el suizo Tudor con la figura francesa Julian Alaphilippe, y el noruego Uno-X Mobility. Los dos primeros equipos de ProTeams en la clasificación 2024 son Lotto e Israel Premier Tech. la nueva regla se aplicará desde el 1 de abril, pero la UCI podría a partir de 2026 optar por dos invitaciones reservadas para los organizadore
