Talen CEO says Amazon is investing 'sweat equity' at its data center next door to the Susquehanna nuclear plant [Business Insider]

AI-driven electricity demand has boosted Talen's stock in the last year. Despite regulatory challenges, Talen Energy is forging ahead with its deal to provide power to an Amazon data center adjacent to its Susquehanna nuclear power plant in Pennsylvania, CEO Mac McFarland said Thursday on the company's fourth-quarter earnings call. "We have an existing relationship with a hyperscaler who shows no signs of pulling back on growth and has invested material capital and sweat equity into the Susquehanna agreement to date and on an ongoing basis," McFarland said.
