"Telefónica Hispanoamérica, S.A., filial 100% propiedad de Telefónica, S.A, ha alcanzado un acuerdo para la venta a Millicom Spain, S.L. de la totalidad de las acciones que ostenta en Colombia Telecomunicaciones S.A" (Coltel), anunció la empresa en un comunicado enviado al organismo supervisor de la Bolsa española. Estas acciones representan el 67,5% del capital de Coltel, el resto está en manos del Estado colombiano. La venta se cerró por "400 millones de dólares estadounidenses (aproximadamente, 368 millones de euros al tipo de cambio actual)", afirma el operador histórico español en el comunicado. Millicom, que cotiza en Suecia y Estados Unidos y tiene su sede social en Luxemburgo, está presente en nueve países en América Latina y América Central.
