For Bjorn Bos and other retail investors who piled into energy company Tellurian Inc. in the past few years, it wasn't meant to end this way. Tellurian agreed this week to be swallowed up by larger rival Woodside Energy Group Ltd. for about US$1 a share in cash, ending its ambition to independently develop a multibillion-dollar natural gas export terminal. For Tellurian's army of small shareholders — many of whom bought the stock when it traded near US$3 — there's not just disappointment, but a sense of betrayal.
