Trump presidential win, so they can continue to fight for the middle class regardless of how members voted. The letter, posted on social media late Wednesday, started by acknowledging that "the people have spoken" in electing Trump to a second term as U.S. president. Fain said it was not the outcome the UAW advocated for — because the UAW endorsed Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris — but the union members must remain true to the UAW mission of fighting for their jobs and better benefits. "We must raise the standard of living for our members and the entire working class through unity, solidarity, and working-class power. No matter who is in the White House," Fain's letter read. It went on to say, "As we have said consistently, both parties share the blame for the one-sided class war that corporate America has waged on our union, and on working-class Americans for decades."
