Mr. Trump announced on Wednesday that he would impose tariffs on automobiles and light trucks imported into the United States. The tariffs, he said, would go into effect on April 2, and the U.S. would start collecting the duties the following day. Mr. Trump said he believes the new import duty could raise between $600 billion and $1 trillion in revenue over the next two years, adding that the used.
