One of Marvel's most anticipated releases of 2025 can not run for longer than 44 minutes according to the contract which grants the studio the rights to make it. Called Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man , the animated series is due to debut on January 29 on the Disney+ streaming platform. The first trailer for the ten-episode show was released last week and reveals that it is set in an alternate timeline to the inter-connected Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It puts a completely new spin on the web slinger's origin story. Instead of being mentored by the heroic Iron Man, as he is on the silver screen, Spider-Man's tutor in the animated series is Norman Osborn, who is secretly Spider-Man's arch-enemy The Green Goblin.
