On Nov. 6, the day after the US presidential election, about 115,000 US web visitors deactivated their X accounts, according to Similarweb . Several notable celebrities and public figures have since announced their departures or disappeared from the site. Last week, British news publication The Guardian announced that it was archiving its X accounts and would no longer post on the network, explaining "that the benefits of being on X are now outweighed by the negatives and that resources could be better used promoting our journalism elsewhere." The recent decision by X to change the way its block feature works could also be a reason why people are leaving the service. Fledgling social network Bluesky appears to be a significant new landing place for many X departees -- the official Bluesky account posted yesterday that more than a million people have signed up for the service since Nov. 5.
