The Thursday afternoon in a helicopter crash in New York City was on a vacation celebrating his wife's birthday, according to officials. Agustín Escobar, a Siemens executive, was joined by his wife and their three young children for an afternoon sightseeing tour of New York City when the helicopter they were aboard . The pilot was also killed in the crash. Escobar's company confirmed that he was the victim in the crash, which occurred when the aircraft plummeted into the river separating Manhattan from New Jersey.
