SeaWorld reports surprise loss, but revenue rises above expectations SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. SEAS, -8.82% reported Wednesday a surprise wider fourth-quarter loss, which included a legal settlement charge, while revenue and admission per capita rose more than expected. The theme park operator's stock was still inactive in premarket trading. The net loss widened to $24.2 million, or 31 cents a share, including a settlement charts of $32.1 million, from $11.1 million, or 13 cents a share, from the year-ago period. The FactSet consensus was for net earnings per share of 3 cents. Revenue grew 6.4% to $298.0 million, to top the FactSet consensus of $289.0 million, as admission per capita rose 6.9% to $37.89 to beat expectations of $33.10. Attendance increased 2.2% to 4.7 million guests while total revenue per capita grew 4.2% to $63.42, beating expectations of $61.80.
