The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a nongovernmental governing body headed by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, is taking on remote work for government employees. The attempt to reduce the federal workforce is a war on remote work - especially if government workers quit as a result of the initiative. While Forbes reports that only 18% of the Fortune 500 companies require 100% full-time in-office work, it's no secret that removing remote work as an option is reducing the workforce . A survey by BambooHR found that a quarter of VP and C-suite executives and a fifth of HR pros admitted to hoping for voluntary turnover after implementing a return-to-office policy.
