Finance chief Neil Sorahan said the airline will hold negotiations with airports in the coming months, with those that fail to reduce their charges sufficiently set to lose services. While flights from Ryanair's biggest base at Stansted are probably secure, he said, the increase in departure taxes threatens the viability of services at Britain's provincial airports. “It's the regions that will really suffer,” Mr Sorahan said. “We will talk to our airport partners. Those conversations will have to take place. I'd be worried for the UK on the back of this. Everybody has to look at their cost base. If there are better opportunities elsewhere then we will chase them. “We warned governments that they need to stimulate growth and unfortunately the UK seems to be less keen to do so. “It's a huge backward step. Britain needs growth and connectivity, and having the highest tax in Europe and rising doesn't help the thesis for airlines to operate here.” Ryanair warned on Friday that
