Getty Images Just one day after announcing Indiana businessman Ted Gelov of Heartland Foods as a partner at Ed Carpenter Racing, the NTT IndyCar Series team announced on September 15 Alexander Rossi would join the team as one of its two drivers in 2025. Rossi, winner of the 100 th Indianapolis 500 in 2016 with team owners Bryan Herta and Michael Andretti, will join second-year driver Christian Rasmussen on owner/driver Ed Carpenter's IndyCar operation. Carpenter will compete in the 109 th Indianapolis in 2025 an extra Chevrolet entry. Rossi takes over full-time duties in the No. 21 Chevrolet. Rasmussen, who recently completed his rookie season with ECR, has been elevated to full-time driver of the No. 21 Chevrolet. Both drivers have multi-year deals. “It is an exciting day to not only welcome Alex to the team, but to extend our relationship with Christian,” Carpenter said. “We are very excited about our lineup, and other partnership announcements that will be forthcoming.”
