Over five decades (if you go from when the luxury footwear company started). The wait is over: CEO Kristina Blahnik jetted in to host the brand's glamorous opening at Shanghai's Plaza 66 on 7 November. Blahnik, who took over her uncle's company 14 years ago, has a more recent connection to China. In 1995, only 21 and fresh out of university, she and a friend undertook an adventurous trip that began in Hong Kong. From there, they traveled to a list of cities that included Guilin, Guangzhou, Yangshuo, Xi'an, Beijing, Putuoshan, and Shanghai—capturing it all on that most 90s of devices, the disposable camera.
