While both companies are leaders in AI, they occupy different positions in the industry. Nvidia dominates the market for data center GPUs, with a 98% market share, and has a strong competitive advantage through its CUDA software platform. Palantir, on the other hand, is a cloud software company that specializes in data fusion. Nvidia has reported five straight quarters of triple-digit percentage revenue growth, with a profit margin above 50%, while Palantir's revenue growth has accelerated for five quarters in a row, but at a slower pace. Both stocks are trading at expensive valuations, but Nvidia seems to have the edge, with a lower price-to-sales ratio and more entrenched competitive advantages, making it the more reliable business to own.
