that the FDA has lifted a clinical hold on a Phase 1/2 study of its drug BMF-219 for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Truist Securities raised its rating on the stock to buy and reinstated its price target of $54, commenting that a “key overhang” had been removed and that the near-term focus is now on an expected Phase 2b data readout by year's end. “We expect the data readout to shed more light on the patient population that is more likely to benefit from the drug and will determine the plan moving forward," Truist said in its note. Truist added that an announcement of oral GLP-1 data and type 1 diabetes data by the end of the year could be additional catalysts. Rodman & Renshaw also upgraded Biomea ( BMEA ) to buy, raising its price target to $18.
