The general public and professionals should be vigilant about falsified weight-loss medications, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Thursday. The international public health agency specifically raised the alarm about counterfeits of semaglutide drugs that people frequently use to facilitate weight loss. Its warning focused on three batches of fake Ozempic that appeared in Brazil, the U.K. and the U.S. late last year. "If the products don't have the necessary raw components, falsified medicines can lead to health complications resulting from unmanaged blood glucose levels or weight.
