Some are mad. Others think it looks cool. But a lot of people seem to be misunderstanding what's going on here. I wanted to write something to clarify a few points and extinguish some misinformation I've seen floating around here. So, here we go: This project is not some sort of Sony-dictated expansion of the brand now that Destiny is struggling quite a bit. Sony has essentially nothing to do with this. A Destiny mobile game has been in the works for years. It was originally part of a larger plan to make the Destiny universe have different pieces, a mobile game, an adventure game, a PvP spin-off and the main game, to name a few. Everything else was essentially scrapped outside of the mobile game. The mobile game is made by NetEase. I know people know that but this is almost entirely made by NetEase through a license from Bungie to make the game that was part of the $100 million investment NetEase made in Bungie in 2018.
