Last week, the company delayed preorders in the US because of the potential impact of the Trump administration's new tariffs. “Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in Canada will not start on April 9, 2025 in order to align with the timing of preorders to be determined in the US,” Nintendo of Canada said to MobileSyrup . “Nintendo will provide updated information at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged.” The company hosted a Switch 2-focused Direct on April 2nd to reveal details about the console and games for the platform, including that and upgraded versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be available as launch titles. But that same day, President Donald Trump announced the major new tariffs , and they could mean we'll have to pay more for all gadgets
