Colton Herta's No. 26 team receives IndyCar penalty after Thermal Club in 2025 [USA TODAY]

According to IndyCar, Herta's No. 26 car failed post-race technical inspection due to an incorrect assembly of the front suspension. The penalties don't affect Herta as the driver. Instead, IndyCar has issued a $25,000 fine and 10-point penalty to the No. 26 team and Andretti Global. Due to the penalty, the No. 26 car has fallen from eighth to 10th in the point standings. Herta wasn't issued anything because the violation was a non-race procedure penalty. Herta finished in fourth place at The Thermal Club and during post-race inspection, IndyCar discovered the team incorrectly attached the anti-intrusion plates on the aft leg of the front lower wishbones by using only one plate per side of the chassis instead of the two per side.
