and forfeited 10 championship entrant points and all prize money due to the incorrectly attached anti-intrusion plates during The Thermal Club IndyCar Grand Prix, IndyCar announced Wednesday. The No. 26 will drop from 8th to 10th in the entrant points standings. It doesn't affect Herta's driver points. It violated Rule 14.1.4: Approved Suppliers must submit bulletins to IndyCar for approval prior toreleasing bulletins to entries. Once Submitted bulletins are approved by IndyCar, members are subject to enforcement by IndyCar. The violation was discovered during post-race technical inspection Sunday. Teams are required to use two anti-intrusion plates per side; Andretti Global used one. The anti-intrusion plates were introduced following a 2015 practice incident involving James Hinchcliffe at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The violation is considered a Non-Race Procedure Penalty.
