And the changes for 2025 are immediately noticeable, owing to its sleek new styling, a more fuel-efficient engine and a host of innovative technology. The Murano started the midsize SUV craze when it launched in 2002 as a 2003 model. Since then, 148,862 Murano vehicles have been sold in Canada. But in recent years, sales have been dwindling. In 2023, 4,411 Muranos were sold in Canada. I would venture to blame it on growing competition in an expanding, popular segment and a vehicle that was growing long-in-the-tooth. The Murano's last major revamp was 10 years ago - an eternity by automotive standards. Typically, vehicles undergo minor changes every two years and major overhauls every four years. “It's way too long.
