Earlier in the day, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the situation, that a new CEO search is ongoing and at least one headhunter has been appointed to assist with the process as the former biggest mobile phone maker grapples with slumping stock prices and dwindling sales. The FT report said the move to replace Lundmark comes after shareholder frustration for his inability to boost top-line numbers, which are lower now than they were in 2016 after its €15.6bn takeover of Alcatel-Lucent. The report said Nokia is also looking for a new chair to replace Sari Baldauf, a close ally of Lundmark, according to several people. Outsiders have been approached, and the new chair is not expected to come from the current board, they added.
