Andermatt, Switzerland offers the perfect setting for winter activities. Andermatt Swiss Alps At one time or another, all ardent skiers dream of a European vacation in order to test their mettle at some of the world's greatest ski resorts. The recreational sport of skiing originated in Norway, which is considered the birthplace of ski resorts with the first recognized ski resort opening in 1908 in Holmenkollen.
