Microsoft stock sees worst single-day plunge since 2000 Shares of Microsoft Corp. MSFT, -14.74% sold off 14.7% in Monday trading amid deepening concerns about COVID-19. The decline was the worst single-day drop since April 24, 2000, when Microsoft's stock fell 15.6%. The stock's drop deepened late in the session as Trump administration officials issued updates about the COVID-19 outbreak in the U.S., suggesting that people avoid gatherings of more than 10 people and projecting that the U.S. could continue to feel the effects of the outbreak into the summer. The stock has lost 27% over the past month, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -12.93% has fallen 31%.
