YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Threads. With so many platforms to create content on, how do newcomers pick where to start? Seasoned creators have an answer. When asked what social-media platform they'd use to grow an audience if they were just starting out, lifestyle influencers including Janette Ok, Kelly Kay, and Arianna Hailey named Instagram reels and YouTube shorts during a panel last week at the annual creator conference VidCon "I think the community engagement is the best," creator Janette Ok, as she's known online, said of YouTube, where she has almost 100,000 subscribers.
