An event Friday at MGM National Harbor called “Empower-Her” Business Summit is hoping to take away some of the sting Business owner Sherrell Martin attended. “To have this conference here is great for business owners large and small they have tracks for us business owners and tracks for more business owners, so this is so empowering,” Martin said. Hundreds of veterans rally against mass federal firings Prince George's County Councilwoman Ingrid Watson says this was a great event and although the summit was not a job fair she says many business owners who attended are looking to hire new workers and that could be good news for thousands who have lost jobs. “Well I think this is a positive thing because you have lots of these businesses who can reach out to some of the federal workers who have been displaced or no longer have their jobs so this summit could be key to helping them,” Watson said.
