Despite a dip in bird flu cases , according to the United States Department of Agriculture, egg prices are still hovering between the $5-6 mark for Tennessee and much of the United States. In January, the cost of eggs soared 15.2%, the latest in a flurry of increases amid a two-year bird flu outbreak, according to the price index.
