The pharmaceutical giant filed two lawsuits Tuesday morning against compounding pharmacies that it alleges continue to produce and promote unauthorized versions of tirzepatide, the active ingredient in both medications. The lawsuits, filed in federal district courts in New Jersey and Delaware, target Empower Pharmacy and Strive Pharmacy, respectively. Eli Lilly accuses the companies of selling drugs that are not clinically tested nor approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
