Shares fell 3.9% in premarket trading. "Shares of Ciena have increased +49% YTD vs. S&P 500 increasing +21%, as investors have latched onto the idea of a robust Optical cycle in the coming years as a driver of change in the structural growth outlook," analyst Samik Chatterjee wrote in a note to clients. "However, we believe the EPS upside is more limited relative to the upside embedded in the shares at 27x NTM P/E." Chatterjee lowered his rating to Neutral from Overweight on Ciena, but kept his $65 price target. Delving a bit deeper, Chatterjee said he sees Ciena's revenue growth in fiscal 2025 to be in-line with the long-term growth rate of 6% to 8%, as telecom spending is still "constrained." And while cloud capex spending in total is expected to remain strong, any flow through to inter-data center investments is "lower in magnitude relative to intra-datacenter," Chatterjee added, citing the "inconsistent growth in Ciena's cloud revenues relative to Cloud capex trends in th
