OPEC+ is discussing plans to boost oil output in June. Easing trade tensions have revived momentum among stock market investors, but the same can't be said for oil. Crude markets on Wednesday seemed to dismiss a White House cue that the ongoing trade war with China could soon tone down, implying less downward pressure on energy demand. Instead, oil on Wednesday extended a crash that has dragged on since the early days of Donald Trump's presidency. Brent crude, the international benchmark, was down 2% on Wednesday and has dropped 19.31% since peaking in January. That's outpaced by an even steeper 22% plunge in US oil prices.
