Homebuilders are up an average of 6.9% in J.P. Morgan's universe. “We believe the homebuilding stocks should continue to benefit from solid fundamentals, including a still favorable demand/supply backdrop, in particular driven by fairly tight supply across the broader housing market,” wrote JPM analyst Michael Rehaut in a note. In addition, he expects solid value growth with strong balance sheets over the next two years for the group. Overweight-rated builders include PulteGroup ( PHM ), and Toll Brothers ( TOL ), Meritage Homes ( MTH ), Smith Douglas Homes ( SDHC ), and Taylor Morrison Home ( TMHC Analysts also remain less constructive on buildings products due to the repair and remodel activity outlook still constrained.
