acquire Juniper Networks ( NYSE: JNPR ) is still on track to close later this year or early next year. Shares of HP Enterprise were fractionally higher in premarket trading. "HPE is pivoting towards a high-growth, richer margin portfolio focused on enterprise network offerings with the announced acquisition of Juniper Networks (network segment to represent ~50%+ of [adjusted] operating income vs 30% currently)," analyst Asiya Merchant wrote in an investor note. "We believe this acquisition will take time for synergies to materialize, and creating a unified offering could be a challenge, given overlap in WLAN/campus and branch switching." Merchant put a Neutral rating and $20 price target on HP Enterprise. In a separate note, Citi analyst Atif Malik said there is a "high probability" that the $14B merger happens in the next several months, despite some concerns among investors.
