The first two generations spanning nine years were basically rebadged Isuzu Rodeos. Once the CR-V, Element and Pilot arrived, it was dropped. But then Honda brought the name back on a shortened two-row version of the Pilot in 2019. For 2026, the Passport is getting a full redo and shifting more in the direction of an off-road capable SUV to try to compete in the adventure/lifestyle segment. 2026 Honda Passport Honda The most obvious indication of this is the design that in many ways harkens back to the 1997-2002 second-generation model that was built by Isuzu. The new Passport has a chunkier, more squared off design with a flatter, longer hood, slightly more upright windshield and similar kick-up at the beltline toward the back of the rear doors. At least some of the 2.9-inch longer wheelbase has gone into reducing the front overhang. The body is only 1.5-inches longer but the approach angle has grown by almost two degrees to 23 degrees.
