The natural ecosystem is facing difficult times, with wildfires devastating the Los Angeles area . But the human ecosystem isn't doing so well either, with surveys continuing to show high levels of workplace stress and disengagement. If we take the analogy of society as an ecosystem further, we could conclude that stress is a polluter on par with CO2. Its root causes are long working hours, unrealistic workloads and lack of autonomy and recognition. It can result in increased absenteeism and burnout, depression and reduced job satisfaction.
