Tekla Healthcare: Healthcare Offering Defense And Growth Summary Healthcare is a defensive industry with significant growth prospects. The industry is relatively recession-proof as people cannot control when they will get sick. Demographics strongly favor a bullish thesis for healthcare. HQH is one of the better diversified healthcare CEFs around, although it is currently pretty heavily-weighted towards biotechnology. The fund offers a 9.5% yield and trades at a 10% discount to NAV so the price certainly looks good. One area in which all investors should have some exposure is healthcare. This is because healthcare is one of the only defensive industries that has substantial growth prospects. These growth prospects come from the simple fact that America's population is growing older, along with the rest of the developed world.
