On a per-share basis, the Marlborough, Massachusetts-based company said it had net income of 87 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.03 per share. The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.02 per share. The medical device maker posted revenue of $1.02 billion in the period. For the current quarter ending in March, Hologic expects its per-share earnings to range from $1 to $1.03. The company said it expects revenue in the range of $995 million to $1 billion for the fiscal second quarter.
