short term, Goldman Sachs outlined what could go wrong further down the line after a jumbo-sized rate reduction. Risky assets have climbed heading into the Federal Open Market Committee's September decision and could rally for another 5 to 10 sessions if the Fed starts with a large cut. But policymakers guiding a slower pace than priced by the market would serve as a let-down, analysts at Goldman's FICC and Equities desk said in note Tuesday. Among potential implications: Financial conditions that have eased over the past couple of weeks could re-tighten if there's “disappointment to the perception that the Fed could be moving slower than the 1y1y nominals suggest,” GS said.
