The Canadian dollar traded at roughly 70 U.S. cents on Wednesday, which lowers production costs in Ontario, home to Canada's auto industry. Brian Kingston, president and CEO of the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers Association, a group that includes the Canadian arms of General Motors, Ford and Stellantis, added that Trump's executive order allows car makers to deduct U.S.-made parts when calculating the tariff.
