Plenty Unlimited announced earlier this week that it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in a Texas federal court. While that restructuring plays out, Plenty said it has no plans to stop operations at either the Enon strawberry facility or its research and development plant in Laramie, Wyoming. The $300 million Enon facility – deemed the world's largest indoor-farming operation – opened last September at the intersection of North Enon Church Road and Meadowville Technology Parkway. It is projected to produce 4 million pounds of strawberries annually to be marketed under the Driscoll's brand. “This is a challenging time for the vertical farming industry, and Plenty is not immune from those challenges or market dynamics,” the company said in a statement. “After evaluating all of our strategic alternatives, we have determined that pursuing a restructuring process is in the best interests of Plenty and all our stakeholders.” The restructuring plan, which has received approva
