Latinas face “broken rungs” from the bottom of the corporate ladder to the top, starting with only 5% of Latinas making up entry-level employees compared to their 9% representation in the general population. This gap continues all the way to the top of organizations, with a loss of 78% in the highest levels of leadership, according to LeanIn.Org's first-ever “We're the largest minority group in the U.S.,” says Daisy Auger-Dominguez, speaker, board advisor, and C-suite leader who has held leadership positions at VICE Media, Viacom, Google, Disney, and others. “We have to work just like everybody else, whether in a restaurant or a Fortune 500 company. Yet, there's still a deep discrepancy in understanding the full inclusion of Latinos in the workplace.
