Kenton Jarvis, who will take over as easyJet chief in January, cast doubt over whether customers would want to go to a hotel run by Ryanair Mr Jarvis, easyJet's current chief financial office, said: “Ryanair is a different brand. I think that could be the initial challenge. It's a big leap of trust. “It's one thing to sit on a plane seat for 90 minutes; it's quite another to turn up at a hotel with your family and if there's an overbooking you cannot call anyone because they don't answer phone calls. “That's what brands are about. I think we're trusted to look after you in that eventuality.” The comments suggest the long-standing rivalry between easyJet and Ryanair will continue under Mr Jarvis. EasyJet was founded in 1995, while Ryanair has been run by Michael O'Leary since 1994.
