According to ticket sales data provided by StubHub and SeatGeek, that’s precisely how Rangers fans view attending their home rink. Let’s not misconstrue this. Home games at Madison Square Garden are the second hottest among NHL teams, according to SeatGeek. Only the Toronto Maple Leafs deal with higher demand and prices on the secondary market. But as one of the premier venues in hockey, MSG is known for its expensive costs. And whenever the Rangers’ tri-state rivals descend on their rink, those numbers skyrocket further. “Rangers fans clearly love a good rivalry game,” said Akshay Khanna, GM of Sports for StubHub. Three of the top-seven most expensive Ranger games this season, in terms of average ticket price, have been against the Islanders and Devils.
